The
Berry Rook Tournament was unleashed with great vigor Saturday night, immediately
following the Golf Draw. Despite the fact that the Rook Tournament
Director, Bob Berry was called away to attend a funeral, the first leg
of the tourney went ahead on schedule.
Leg 2 seemed to be a little bit more confused. Some players didn't appear to know where they were supposed to be playing, or otherwise didn't think it was important to start at any special time. Some groups meet on schedule, but forgot that they were supposed to be playing rook. In the end, if measured by the amount of enjoyment received by all, the Rook Tournament was a huge success. However, it is unclear as to who the champions were - if in fact there was an actual winner! Rumour has it that the tournament is still being played in somebody's kitchen, somewhere in the Maritimes. A winner should be announced shortly.
